The program provides job opportunities for Aboriginal people to work in non-government organisations in the disability sector in various types of roles; from disability support, to social work to human resource management.

Red Cross are seeking an Aboriginal Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator in Warren / Nyngan

The Aboriginal Parent and Community Engagement (PACE) Coordinator is a Full Time position until December 2012.
Excellent salary packaging is available.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • The Coordinator role is responsible for leading and implementing the PACE program in partnership with Warren Central School, Nyngan Public school and Nyngan High Schools and the communities involved.

Essential criteria

  • Aboriginality
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the Department of Education and community sectors
  • Ability to engage with Aboriginal people with respect and flexibility
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver the PACE program within the approved budget
  • Unrestricted driver's licence
  • Well-developed analytical, problem solving, reflection and negotiating abilities
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated effective experience in program delivery and community engagement
  • Red Cross considers that being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational qualification under s.14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
